Enlarged tonsils

Tonsillectomy is indicated in cases of chronic tonsillitis recurrent episodes of acute tonsillitis. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia. Even after tonsil removal, the body’s ability to ward off infection remains unaffected as there are other protective mechanisms. An overnight hospital stay is required following the surgery for observation.
