Thyroplasty is a surgical procedure performed on the larynx (sound box) to bring about a change in the quality of voice by altering the length or position of the vocal cords. Depending upon the indication for which the surgery is being performed, the technique is individualized for every patient. This surgery is usually performed under local anesthesia with sedation.
